When we pray the rosary, we encounter the mystery of Christ’s love as we
pilgrimage through the events of Christ’s life upon a set of rosary beads.
This experience of prayer is meant to be a transformative time of grace,
something that changes us from within. Over time, our lives begin to mirror
Christ more profoundly as we encounter him in prayer. In other words,
the rosary is a Eucharistic prayer. Just as Christ’s presence in the Eucharist
transforms our very lives, so too the rosary enables us to share Christ’s love
with the world when we discover the depths of his love in and through the rosary.
We must pray the rosary with a desire to increase our love for the members
of the Body of Christ, and to increase our ability to witness to the Gospel.
If we hide within this prayer as an obligation or an escape from the world,
then we have missed the point. The rosary is a prayer of spiritual martyrdom;
do you dare to encounter the reality of Christ’s love on the Cross? If you pray
the rosary with your heart, you will certainly never be the same.
1. True Love
St Pope John Paul II said that youth long for a beautiful love. This longing is an invitation to discover the true love of Jesus. May this song prepare your heart to contemplate the life of Jesus with Mary in the twenty mysteies of the rosary.
I am looking for the meaning of life
I am longing to give my own
Though the world tries to teach me
The truth of love
My Jesus is truth alone
I am searching the night for a lover
Who will take me just as I am
I find on the cross my love, crucified
The one who will take my hand
I want my love to be beautiful.
I want to be who you made me to be
A love given up for all
Only the cross reveals true love
The cross reveals true beauty
Now I can’t find the words
But I’m grateful
So I’ll speak with the voice of my eyes
I am willing to lay down my very life
I do not fear sacrifice
Only you can show me
What is pure and holy.
Only you have known me
And shown me what is love
2. Let It Be Done Unto Me
THE FIRST JOYFUL MYSTERY: THE ANNUNCIATION
BASED ON LUKE 1:26-38
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE ANGEL GABRIEL
The Lord sent me to Mary
As she was praying in the sun.
I said, “Hail Mary, favored one,
The Lord is with you.
Mary, it is true.”
She did not understand.
She said, “Shall I touch the sky
With these small hands?”
A peasant girl from Galilee
Destined to become
The Queen of Peace.
And all the heavens and the earth
Stand still in silence,
Waiting for her soul to reply.
She is free to choose
God will never abuse
The sacred Yes
She cannot be denied
Let it be done unto me!
With one small yes
The world will be redeemed.
What was impossible
Is now a possibility.
Let it be done unto me!
“Mary, do not be afraid.
Behold, you will conceive a son
Through whom the world is saved.
Humility will be your throne,
And in your womb
Our God will find a home.”
“Oh, Lord, how can this be?
I have not given any man
My body’s purity!”
“The Spirit will come down,
Like once barren Elizabeth
Can now with child be found!”
She said Yes to the Father,
Yes to the unknown,
Yes with all her strength,
Yes to God alone.
The first Holy Communion
Took place that blessed day.
Christ came into her body
When Mary chose to say
3. Jesus Within You
THE SECOND JOYFUL MYSTERY: THE VISITATION
BASED ON LUKE 1:39-56
FROM THE PERSPECTIVES OF ELIZABETH AND MARY
I had not seen you for a long time
When the fragrance of your voice
Filled the air
Oh, you bring out the child in me
Your presence is a prayer
Blessed are you
Blessed is the fruit of your womb
Who am I that God
Should come to me in you?
A child leaps from deep within me
Reaching toward the Truth
I see Christ
I see Jesus within you
My soul proclaims
The greatness of the Lord
I rejoice in He who blessed me
God my Savior
Oh, from now on
When you remember me
Remember God’s great mercy
He has looked upon my soul
Little and lowly
He has turned a one-room house
Into a palace for a king
God has done great things for me
His name is holy
You see Christ
You see Jesus within me
Look how God has chosen
To reveal his soul
In each of his own children
You and I, young and old
We must cherish Jesus’ presence
In every human life
The first to worship Jesus
Was John, the unborn child
Blessed is the presence of Christ
Found within you.
Lord, these tears of joy
Reveal my gratitude
Blessed are you who believed
That what God spoke
To you was true
I see Christ
I see Jesus
Infant Jesus
Crucified Jesus
Risen Jesus
Beautiful Jesus
Within you
4. Star of Bethlehem
THE THIRD JOYFUL MYSTERY: THE NATIVITY
BASED ON MATTHEW 2:1-11
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE STAR OF BETHLEHEM
I am only one among the millions
Look at all the different stars
Up in the sky
What can I do for my Lord Jesus?
He was born in Bethlehem
This starry night
Then the Lord said unto me,
“O Little Star of Bethlehem,
I want you to be the one
To show the way.
I will magnify your soul
So the whole wide world will know
That the King of Peace
Was born on earth today.”
And I was chosen
To shine the light
To show the way
To our Lord Jesus Christ
And the magi from the East
They were wandering
They were searching
To find Jesus in the night
When they saw me
Little star, at my rising
They saw streams of love
Come flashing from my life.
So I led them on through darkness
To behold the newborn king
Then I stopped over the place
Where Jesus lay
With the gift of my small light
The magi became filled with joy
They found Mary with her child
And bowed in praise.
I cannot give you gold
Or frankincense or myrrh
I do not have
A glorious gift to sacrifice
I am only one small star
But I’ll lead children from afar
To behold the child
Who made the stars of night.
We are chosen
To shine the light,
To show the way
To our Lord Jesus Christ
5. Simeon's Joy
THE FOURTH JOYFUL MYSTERY:
THE PRESENTATION OF JESUS IN THE TEMPLE
BASED ON LUKE 2:22-35
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF SIMEON
You know that I love you
But when shall my heart be consoled?
Yes, he is coming
Says my Lord of Hosts
He’s purer than light made of gold.
In the temple I wait for him
I’ll not see death ‘till he appears
Till I gaze on the face of salvation
Look, he is coming
My savior draws near
I hold him in my arms
I have met Jesus
Bless the Lord
Take my life
For my eyes have seen the light
The glory, the joy of your child
The Spirit dances upon my face
I have touched God’s living Word
Joseph and Mary
I bless you with grace
As you present your son now
With joy to the Lord
The proud will fall
And the poor will rise
He will be hated for love
Mary, your heart
Will be pierced seven times
Revealing the thoughts
Of the Father above
6. The Finding
THE FIFTH JOYFUL MYSTERY:
FINDING JESUS IN THE TEMPLE
BASED ON LUKE 2:41-52
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF JOSEPH
Twelve years ago it all began
With an angel in my dream
I took Mary as my wife
And we united in our holy virginity
Simeon and Anna announced his destiny
Who am I that God
Should be obedient to me?
One day a carpenter’s son
Will be nailed to a tree
Three days ago I held
My child’s small hands
God’s hands that made the morning
I am father to a king
Who has not come to rule the world
But now my child is gone
What have I done wrong?
God left me without warning!
Why would God cause me such distress?
Have I failed to live in faithfulness?
Where did you go, Jesus?
I’ve been searching for days,
Calling out your name
With every prayer I pray.
See the tears of a father
In search of a son.
I’m so afraid I did not know
Quite how to love.
Trouble is, I didn’t notice
Right away that you were gone.
I went searching for your presence
Among friends and family
Never has one day felt so long
I did not find you there
So I turned right back around.
Oh, where can my beloved
Child be found?
In the streets and squares of Jerusalem
Where is my beloved now?
Where did you go, Jesus?
I’ve been searching for days,
Calling out your name
With every prayer I pray.
See the tears of a father
In search of a son.
I’m so afraid I did not know
Quite how to love.
Desperate for grace
I went with Mary
To the temple to pray.
We were astonished to find Jesus
Teaching the elders
Who looked with wonder at his face.
I ran to embrace him
“Son, why have you done this to us?
We have been looking for you!
We have been so anxious!”
Jesus turned and said,
“Why were you looking for me?
Did you not know
That in my Father’s house I’d be?
You are the earthly father
Of the Heavenly Father’s Son.
I will hide in your home
Till my hour comes.
Jesus spoke in words
I could not comprehend.
All I know is that my son was lost
And has been found again.
I love him as my child
But revere him as my God.
I’m the chosen father
Of the Lord’s own perfect love.
What joy it is to find
God’s perfect love.
7. Behold the Lamb of God
THE FIRST LUMINOUS MYSTERY:
THE BAPTISM OF JESUS IN THE JORDAN
BASED ON LUKE 3:21-22, JOHN 1:19-34, 4:29-30
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF JOHN THE BAPTIST
It is I who need you
And yet you come to me
I must grow smaller
So you will increase
God said, “This is my Beloved Son
With whom I am well pleased.”
So this joy of mine
Has been made complete.
I was buried with you in the water
But I rose again
Gasping to take a new breath
Drowned by your grace on the altar
I drink of your cup
I drink of your death
Behold the Lamb of God
Behold the Lamb of God
Who takes away the sin of the world
Behold the Lamb of God
The veil shrouding heaven
Was torn from my eyes
Then a waterfall of grace
Tumbled down from the sky
The Spirit swirled ‘round
With wings white as a dove,
Descending upon the Father’s Beloved
We were buried with you in the water
But we rose again
Gasping to take a new breath.
Drowned by your grace on the altar
We drink of your cup
We drink of your death.
I am not worthy
I am not worthy to touch your feet
I am not worthy to receive you
But only say the word and I shall be healed
8. Wedding at Cana
THE SECOND LUMINOUS MYSTERY:
THE WEDDING FEAST AT CANA
BASED ON JOHN 2:1-11
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE MOTHER OF JESUS
I was with Jesus on the third day
At a wedding in Cana in Galilee
I am always watching over all my children
At the table of the living feast
I noticed when the wine ran short
I said, “Son, their cups
No longer overfloweth.”
He said,
“How does your concern affect me?
My hour has not come yet.”
I am their mother
I know their needs
I am the Mother of the One
Whose blood redeems
I go to Jesus
Asking him to intercede
They have no wine
I’ll change the water into wine
They have no peace
I’ll wash my disciples’ feet
They have no bread
I’ll give my body ‘till they’re fed
They have no love
I’ll send the holy dove
Mother Mary, pray for me.
Do whatever he tells you
Fill your hearts up to the brim
You will come to know his joy
If you are not afraid to change
To give your life to him
I am your Mother
I know your needs
I am the Mother of the One
Whose blood redeems
I go to Jesus
Asking him to intercede
No tienen vino
I’ll change the water into wine
No tienen paz
I’ll wash my disciples’ feet
No tienen pan
I’ll give my Body ‘till they’re fed
No tienen amor
I’ll send the holy dove
Mother Mary, pray for me
The disciples saw His glory
And they began to believe.
Oh, to think it all was started
At a wedding feast.
Husband and wife in union
Is the source of every life.
Jesus married His Body
In service to the Church
His Bride
9. The Kingdom of God Is At Hand
THE THIRD LUMINOUS MYSTERY:
JESUS PROCLAIMS THE COMING OF THE KINGDOM AND CALLS US TO CONVERSION
BASED ON MATTHEW 4:12-22, MARK 1:14-20, LUKE 5:1-11
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF JESUS THE PREACHER
Now is the time
In the midst of your ordinary lives
Repent and believe
In the Gospel of Christ
Cast all your worries
Like stones in the sea
Come, follow me
I will make of you fishers of men.
Everything not of love you must leave.
The Kingdom of God is at hand
This is my Body
The Kingdom of God is at hand
This is my Blood
The Kingdom of God is at hand
The Body of Christ
I believe, Amen
Now the Kingdom is in your hands
Nets made of kindness
Many times mended
By knots of forgiveness
Hearts that repented
Put out into deep waters
Entrust your labors to me
I will heal every one of your ills
Tearing fear with abundant mercy
The people in darkness
Have seen a great light
A land overshadowed
By death comes alive
The world through his Body
Is now reconciled
Open your hands
Cling like a child
10. Listen to Him
THE FOURTH LUMINOUS MYSTERY:
THE TRANSFIGURATION
MATTHEW 17:1-8, MARK 9:2-8, LUKE 9:28-36
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF PETER
I hear the voice of every generation
Listen to him
Time stands still
When I behold your Transfiguration
Listen to Him
I lift up my eyes
I see you alone
God said, “This is my beloved Son
Listen to Him.”
Alone with you
I climb up high
You lead the way
The light of a thousand suns
Illuminates your face
Though my eye are weak
I behold the Son of Man
In your presence, Jesus
I see who I truly am
My heart grows cloudy
And I tremble with fear
I do not want to know
The pain of darkness
I want to stay with you in the light
High on the mountain
Far from the valley
Must I go down, Lord
Before I rise?
It is good that we are here
Jesus came to me
It is good that we are here
And he touched my face
It is good that we are here
Glory, Hallelujah
Do not be afraid
11. A Love Song From Jesus
THE FIFTH LUMINOUS MYSTERY:
THE INSTITUTION OF THE EUCHARIST
BASED ON LUKE 22:14-20 AND THE SONG OF SOLOMON
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF JESUS THE LOVER
All I want to do
Is fall in love with you
May I call you my Beloved?
You do not know
How strong my love is yet
Hold me in your hands
Kiss me with your lips
Enter into love’s communion
In this Eucharist
You have never known a love like this
Do you thirst inside?
And the desire is to share this love
My passion will never die
And what if you
Do not love me in return?
I will be standing here alone
With my blood beating
In my broken heart
My body broken with love
I give you my Blood
I give you my Body
I give you all of my love
Will you take this gift
Or have I not given enough?
1. Agony in the Garden
THE FIRST SORROWFUL MYSTERY:
THE AGONY OF JESUS IN THE GARDEN
MATTHEW 26:36-46, MARK 14:32-42, LUKE 22:39-46
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF JESUS
The world’s in darkness
But I cannot sleep
All my friends want to be with me
But they cannot wait for dreams
I am surrounded by the ones
Who love me most
But I have never felt so alone
I can see all that is to come
I know what God is asking
I know how I am to love
I know my betrayal
Is a never-ending one
And I know salvation’s
In the hands of the Son
So I fall to the earth
And my knees hit the ground
Then I bury my face
In the darkness that surrounds me
How much more will my heart break?
Peter, stay and pray with me
Can you stay awake?
Do I believe
That you really love me?
Because if you love me
Must you ask me for this yes?
And every generation
From now on will call me blessed.
Do you see the angel crying
At the blood that once was sweat?
2. Crucify Him
THE SECOND SORROWFUL MYSTERY:
THE SCOURGING AT THE PILLAR
MATTHEW 27:15-26, MARK 15:6-15, LUKE 23:18-25
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE CONTEMPORARY MOB OF JERUSALEM
We wash our hands of thoughts
That slip through our minds
Like Pontius Pilate, we blame others
For the atrocities of our times
Do we stay silent
While the world screams out its lies?
Sell your body, buy your beauty
Live at the cost of others’ lives
Crucify him
Every child torn from the womb
Crucify him
Every judgment I presume
Crucify him
Every prisoner on death row
Crucify him
Will you cast the first stone?
Betrayed by friends
Denied by words that spill
Like wine from our lips
He drinks the cup for us
His Body is our chalice
Now his back sheds blood
Under the torment of the whip
We join the chorus of Jerusalem
Blind to Christ’s presence
Lord, have mercy
Kyrie eleison
Christ, have mercy
Christe eleison
Lord, have mercy on me
Kyrie eleison
Forgive us our sins
As we forgive those
Who trespass against us
Have mercy, Jesus
3. Crown of Thorns
THE THIRD SORROWFUL MYSTERY:
THE CROWNING OF JESUS WITH THORNS
MATTHEW 27:27-31, MARK 15:16-20, LUKE 23:11
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE ROSE
My seed was born
One bright spring morn
In gardens grown by God
Out of the earth
My stem gave birth
To petals red as blood
The gentle rain
My growth sustained
And like each seed God sows
I dreamed one day
That I’d be named
A king’s most precious rose
***
One day a soldier
Bent me over
Tore me from my bed
All beaten, battered
My stem tattered
Wanted but for dead
In cruel hands gripped
My beauty stripped
‘Twas not the dream I chose
And filled with shame
I wept in pain
No more a precious rose
***
Then I did see
The soldiers lead
A man through palace doors
Was this my king?
Why did they bring him in
This man so poor?
A purple garment
Hid the torment
None but I could see
They mocked and laughed
Gave him a staff
And bowed on bended knee
***
They bent me ‘round
And wove a crown
And placed me on his head
My petals found
Crushed on the ground
Like tears of God turned red
With each small sin
I was pressed in
I pierced with self-disdain
In thought and deed
I made him bleed
My selfishness, his pain
***
“Behold!” they’d sing,
“Behold your King!
Hail, King of the Jews!”
With each reeds’ blow
Our pain did grow
As one we are abused
Despite the crown
He did not frown
He smiled with love instead
And carried me
For all to see
Upon His tender head
***
Once placed with awe
In manger straw
Anointed by John’s hands
Transfigured on
A mountain dawn
Now wore a mangled branch
Once gently kissed
By Mary’s lips
And blessed with magi’s myrrh
Baptized by
A parting sky
Now streamed with blood so pure
***
An innocent brow
Calls to us know
To follow this example
To let our thorns
And all that scorns
Be healed within His Temple
Though dreams may fade
Each one was made
In seed that Jesus sows
And now I see
I’m called to be
The King’s most precious rose
4. Holiness is Faithfulness
THE FOURTH SORROWFUL MYSTERY:
JESUS CARRIES HIS CROSS
BASED ON LUKE 23:26-32, LUKE 9:23-27
AND THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS
A DIALOGUE BETWEEN JESUS
AND THE MEMBERS OF THE BODY OF CHRIST
Holiness is faithfulness
Holiness is joy
I am not bound to loneliness
When I follow Christ, my Lord
I am looking for my Lord
Take your cross and follow me
I am looking for my way
Follow my steps and you will see
Must I sacrifice my glory?
Give it up and you’ll be free
Will I die in living shame?
Do not fear death
You’ll rise in me
I have lost my strength
I’ve fallen
Rise up, Son, to your feet
My mother Mary whispers
In my heart, you’ll be always with me
I am so afraid
Here comes Simon of Cyrene
Will you bear with me my burden?
Jesus, behind you I will carry
She gazes in my eyes
Veronica kneels at his feet
I have fallen once again
And she wipes the face that bleeds
Daughters of Jerusalem
Do not weep for me
Father, catch me in your arms
For I am strong when I am weak

You know that I love you
No greater love than this
I lay down my life for my friends
Jesus’ body now is stripped
They have pierced my hands and feet
Crucified the heavenly king
On a tree between two thieves
Jesus redeemed the world from sin
5. A Mother's Song
THE FIFTH SORROWFUL MYSTERY:
THE CRUCIFIXION
BASED ON JOHN 19:25-27
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF MARY
OUR LADY OF SORROWS
I remember the night
You came into this world
I was trembling
As they placed you in my arms
Your body warmed my hands
As I held you to my side
And I wept with joy
At the sound of your cry
I remember the day
You spoke your first word
You said, “Abba!”
Raised your eyes to the sky
And the years passed by
You grew in wisdom and in grace
Though I taught you how to walk
You taught me how to walk in faith
I loved you then
I love you still
I will love you ‘till forever passes by
From the cradle to the grave
My love remains the same
You will find me by your side
I remember the day
You made the blind man see
I was standing in the crowd
When you looked and smiled at me
People saw your glory
They believed and they were healed
But not even I, your mother
Knew what was to be revealed
I remember the day you carried the cross
I met you on the road to Calvary
I was pierced with sorrow
I was full of grace
Child, let me die for you
I would gladly take your place
Just as I stood at the foot of your cradle
I stood at the foot of your cross
I am here my child
You are not alone
I’ll be with you ‘till you’re safe back
In your father’s home
I remember the night
You died for this world
I was trembling
As they placed you in my arms
They took your body from the cross
And I held you to my side
I wept bitterly
My child was crucified
6. Easter Morning
THE FIRST GLORIOUS MYSTERY:
THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS
BASED ON JOHN 20:1-18
I have been waiting
I have been waiting for this moment
Touch the sky
Death to new life
Like a seed
Within the darkness of the tomb
Death itself you have transformed
Into a womb for the world
For the garden of your glory
To re-bloom once again
Your tears become our life
Your tears become our bread
And the cross becomes a crown
The crown of thorns becomes a rose
And he rose from death to life
Out of love he chose
To give it all away
Become transparent to our pain
Make our suffering his own
To become human
I thought that I had died, Lord
In the darkness
Waiting for something
To open around me
But look now
Look at these wings
You’ve given me!
Look at the thousands of butterflies
That cloud the sky around me
Every desolate and desecrated spirit
Has become a splinter
Of the ageless cross
And he sweat blood
As he comprehended
What he was taking on
And he trembled in the darkness
At the memory of the future wrongs
7. Rejoice!
THE SECOND GLORIOUS MYSTERY: THE ASCENSION
BASED ON MARK 16:14-20, LUKE 24:36-53,
JOHN 14:15-31, ACTS 1:6-12
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF JESUS
You will go with my love
To the ends of the earth
Modern martyrs of mercy
From the East to West sent forth
I’ll work with you and through you
In wonders and signs
With the power of the Spirit
You’ll do greater things than I
Rejoice, Rejoice
I’m with you always
‘Till the end of time
Though I’m taken into heaven
I’ll return in bread and wine
I am going away
But I will come back to you
Not in ways of the world
Do I give myself to you
You’ll still touch me and see
Though a cloud lifts my body
Peace I leave with you
I give you my peace
Why are you standing there
Looking at the sky?
Go now in peace
To love and serve the Lord!

When you live a life of love,
Thank you, Son.
The lame will walk the blind will see,
Thank you, Spirit.
Jesus dwells in me!
9. With You In Heaven
THE FOURTH GLORIOUS MYSTERY:
THE ASSUMPTION OF MARY
BASED ON REVELATION 11:19a
Look at those hands
The faith they’ve held onto
The things they’ve let go
The tears that they’ve dried
These hands held my Lord
When he was crucified
Mary’s hands
They are now
With you in heaven
Look at those eyes
What beauty she’s seen
Gazing with love
Upon bended knee
Gathering all her visions
Of wonder and sorrow
Mary’s eyes
They are now
With you in heaven
Lord, bless my hands
My heart, my breath
Each step of my feet
Each hair on my head
You have built of me a temple
Out of mere flesh and bone
You have given me a body
For my soul’s eternal home
Look at that heart
Pure like a child
Pondering the mysteries
Held deep within
Pierced by a sword
She bleeds not from hers
But the world’s sin
Mary’s heart
It is now
With you in heaven
Bless us, Lord
We’ll soon be
With you in heaven
Bless me, Lord
I’ll soon be
With you in heaven
10. Queen of Peace
THE FIFTH GLORIOUS MYSTERY:
MARY IS CROWNED QUEEN OF HEAVEN
BASED ON REVELATION 12:1-18
FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF JESUS THE SON
Mama, how I loved
The songs you sang to me
On those endless nights
In Egypt far from home
Now I’ve formed a crown
Of stars from every galaxy
Mama, let me lead you
To your throne
You battled with the dragons
And the demons
A great sign in the sky
With moon under your feet
Darkness feared the loving woman
Armored with the Son
You gave birth to light
And saved the world with me
And your name, Mother Mary
Has become a symphony
All the saints and angels singing,
“Alleluia, Queen of Peace!”
Glorious bride of the Kingdom
Mother of all families
Let me give you the heavens
For you gave your life to me
Beneath the cross with strength
You stood right next to me
And you wept outside the tomb ‘
Till night grew old
Now I proudly stand
Beside you for eternity
Mama, see your tears
Have turned to gold
Mama, all your grateful children
Want to offer you
Little roses
As they pray the rosary
They are thankful for the love
That you have brought them to
I am thankful that you
Led them close to me
11. Hail Holy Queen
TRADITIONAL PRAYER
Hail, Holy Queen
Mother of mercy
Our life
Our sweetness
And our hope
To thee do we cry
Poor banished children of Eve
To thee do we send up our sighs
Mourning and weeping
In this valley of tears
Turn then
Most gracious advocate
Thine eyes of mercy toward us
And after this our exile
Show unto us
The blessed fruit of thy womb
Jesus
O clement! O loving!
O sweet Virgin Mary!
Pray for us
O Holy Mother of God
That we might be made worthy
Of the promises of Christ
Amen
12. Reason to Believe
When we pray the rosary, we encounter the mystery of Christ’s love as we pilgrimage through the events of Christ’s life upon a set of rosary beads. This experience of prayer is meant to be a transformative time of grace, something that changes us from within. Over time, our lives begin to mirror Christ more profoundly as we encounter him in prayer. In other words, the rosary is a Eucharistic prayer. Just as Christ’s presence in the Eucharist transforms our very lives, so too the rosary enables us to share Christ’s love with the world when we discover the depths of his love in and through the rosary. We must pray the rosary with a desire to increase our love for the members of the Body of Christ, and to increase our ability to witness to the Gospel. If we hide within this prayer as an obligation or an escape from the world, then we have missed the point. The rosary is a prayer of spiritual martyrdom; do you dare to encounter the reality of Christ’s love on the Cross? If you pray the rosary with your heart, you will certainly never be the same.
Why should the world believe?
Why should the unloved believe in love?
Am I living a consecrated life
To reveal the true presence
To a world that denies it?
Do I live a life of such love
So as to be a reason to believe?
Live a life of such love
To be a reason to believe
What good is the miracle
If you do not change your life?
Is not the real miracle
When you become the living sign,
When your heart changes
From water into wine,
When all that sustains you
Becomes the Body of Christ?
Do you dare to live a life of such love
So as to be a reason to believe?
Live a life of such love
To be a reason to believe.
I become his hands
I walk with his feet
Transubstantiation must occur
With each person that I meet
Thy kingdom come
